The unclassifiable Nike Air Zoom Tempo Next% is a shoe that has several technologies (React, ZoomX and Zoom Air) of the latest from the American brand, a contained weight and a refined upper. It doe not help that strange look with an oversized midsole in which the Zoom Air units are also visible. Perhaps its market is those runners who want to try something not found in more "traditional" shoes like the popular Air Zoom Pegasus 37 shoe without having to reach for the exclusive AlphaFly or Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next%.
Theoretically they come to market to replace the precious Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 within the Nike collection, but there are so many changes that it is understandable that they have preferred for a new nomenclature. Beyond the commented midsole, the upper is also interesting because it is based on a very breathable woven mesh with a bootie-like configuration that allows to adapt well to the foot combined with a reinforcement of the same fabric that hugs the midfoot for a support at the height of the price of the shoe.
The stunning midsole of the Air Zoom Tempo Next% combines React in the rear with ZoomX in the medial side with the spectacular Zoom Air units in the forefoot. There is no carbon fiber plate to give extra boost in each stride that the Nike Zoom Fly 3 does, for example. The outsole clearly differentiates the different areas with plenty of rubber in the forefoot and marked areas in the rear to offer good grip while ensuring durability.
