Description

Well yes, Nike Wildhorse 6 just like that, neither Zoom Air, nor Zoom.... the midsole is now from React, whose greatest exponent in shoes of the American brand for asphalt is the Nike React Infinity Run. Appearance-wise, the previous edition already went for eye-catching color combinations, but this sixth one continues the trend of the New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v5 of approaching the casual market that is typically willing to pay higher prices than the purely athletic segment.

Many changes from its predecessor Nike Zoom Wildhorse 5, so many that it is hard to believe they kept the brand name. The upper is dominated by a breathable mesh upper with plenty of heat-sealed reinforcements over a denser rear. This rear part is the most interesting thing, from the way it takes advantage of the elevation of the midsole for greater stability to the extension of the upper to prevent dust or the typical stones from getting inside. What remains is the solution of the two FlyWire cables closer to the ankle to provide a custom fit with lacing tension.

The rest of the Wildhorse 6 also changes, highlighting the new React midsole that replaces the veteran combination of Phylon and Zoom Air in the rear (curious that its sister Zoom Terra Kiger 6 combines React with Zoom Air cushioning). Although the drop of 8 mm is maintained, there is also an increase in weight and it remains to be seen the dynamic behavior of the aforementioned React, which drags bad reputation in terms of stability. As it could not be otherwise, the outsole joins the revolution and is presented with fewer but larger and more separated lugs, using more robust materials in the most exposed areas to increase durability.
