Who would have realized: the Saucony Ride 15 has reinvented itself with lot of talent and smart solutions. Not only it is shown with an updated and modern design but it has also lost around 10% in weight and has improved both cushioning and dynamic behavior without presenting any type of revolutionary compound or complex material-related solutions highly hyped within the sector: carbon fiber. To round out the loop, there is also a version with the famous waterproof Gore-Tex® (GTX) membrane to enjoy running in adverse weather.
So that no one misses out on the Saucony people have decided to keep the mythical name of the saga given the prestige it has in the running scene since there are many changes compared to its predecessor Ride 14. Regarding upper, the strap that acts as a buttonhole draws attention, a solution already seen in other models that works well to adjust in a personalized way although it breaks the overall design a bit. Transpiration has also been improved with fairly large ventilation holes in the front part which, together with the strip on the back, lets everybody think that it is a more appetizing shoe for triathletes.
Although the most striking thing is the upper cut, one of the most interesting innovations in the Ride 15 takes place in its midsole which, although it is still PWRRUN basd, Saucony engineering has played with the geometries to lower the density (together with the weight) without affecting dynamic performance. An interesting point is the PWRRUN+ insole that increases the cushioning of the set, so be careful of those who have their own custom insoles because this time the standard one is top of the range. The outsole has also been completely redesigned, getting rid of part of the rubber to lighten the whole. It is surprising that there is only one large transversal flex groove in the front part, which could affect a flexibility that undoubtedly marks the greater or lesser softness in the transition. Let's go for a run.
